Hey there Mark! Recently I was re-listening to the Civilization 3 soundtrack and it got me wondering about who exactly composed it and who mixed it. As far as I could tell Civilization 3's sound track is fully original, with only 2 tracks as exceptions - Sonata No. 59 in E-Flat Major, Hob. XVI (IndGRFull) & Nightingale. Both of which should be free to use on YouTube (like when uploading Civilization 3 gameplay videos), but unfortunately it looks like Sonata gets copyright claimed. However, it has proven to be very difficult to track the authors of the tracks. You see, if you google: "Civilization 3 music composer", then Roger Briggs comes up, yet multiple people in the YouTube comments of the individual songs have pointed towards you. Also, if you google: "Civilization 3 soundtrack composer", then nothing at all comes up. This here site mentions the both of you: https://musicbrainz.org/release/cf81efdc-4b9d-4f84-a742-9a8f42da8014 "Roger Briggs & Mark Cromer" So, I've got some questions to ask: How have you been? Why is the information regarding the older Civilization games so scarce on the internet? Are your songs free to use for transformative work on YouTube? Any reason why you (you and Roger both) didn't really compose much else for anything 'gaming' related after Civilization 3? Are you planning on making any more music soon™? P.S. Also thank you for masterpiece tracks across Civilization 3. - guest273

So, I've got some questions to ask:

    How have you been?

Are your songs free to use for transformative work on YouTube?
Any reason why you (you and Roger both) didn't really compose much else for anything 'gaming' related after Civilization 3?

I love the music you did for Civ. The recent Civ soundtracks will never reach the greatness that is Civ III.

The entire Civ III OST is incredible, but Stars is really insane man. The world needs a whole album of chill jams like that gem. (please)

Civilization III was great game, and greatest part was music. Stars and Smash are outstanding compositions. I would like to see cover of them on YT.

The music you composed for Civilization 3, "Stars", is one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard in my entire life. I played that game when it came out and I was a teenager, but I listen to your song to this day. You will never know how much this music means to me. Thank you very much for creating it.

Thanks for your work on Civilization III! All the way back from when I first played, I still can listen and enjoy the music you made. It's too bad it didn't get the recognition it deserved, they truly are unique and classic.

Hi Mark! I accidentally stumbled across your SimGolf music today, and it was so nostalgic I'll have to play the game all over again! Did you do any more of the music for the game? It's quite niche so there's not much on the internet about it! Keep up the great work!
